School is now in session

I thought that I would at least post a little about what has been happening lately. At the end of July we went down to Las Vegas to visit family. We had a great time together and we were even able to get the entire family together for a family picture (which I will post as soon as I get one). We then came home for a week and a half during which I took a math class that the state of Idaho is requiring all teachers to take by the year 2014. It turned out to be a very good class and I really learned quite a lot about teaching math. We then went to the Bergquist family reunion in southern Utah. It was a lot of fun to see all of the family there and to let Elora and Taylan go on their first ride on a horse. Elora loved it, but Taylan wasn't so sure of it. Since coming home I have been preparing my class for school to start, which it did this past Wednesday (the 25th). I think this year may be a little more challenging due to the fact that I have 5 parents who don't speak English. I'm definitely going to have to practice my Spanish a lot more just to be able to communicate with them. It will definitely be good for me as well as a challenge. I'm looking forward to the chance to work with all of my students. I have 21 in my morning class and 17 in the afternoon, so our class sizes are plenty full. Zach is the lucky one and gets to stay at home with the kids all day since he is currently off-track at school. We are very lucky that things have worked out this way so that the kids can be with us most of the time and with grandma the rest of the time. Well, that's what's going on, so here are some pics to enjoy.

Swimming in the sprinkler.

Oh what fun! Coloring at the reunion.

Checking out the horsey.

Getting ready for a ride (before Taylan freaked out).

Waiting for their next ride.

Yet another ride. (she loved it)

Going on the ride.

Mommy taking Taylan for his first ride. He didn't freak out with me.
